Sitting your UKCAT this year? UKCAT registration opened yesterday (if you haven’t registered yet, you can do so here) – and now is a good time to start thinking about booking your test! Not sure where to begin? Here’s a step-by-step guide to booking the UKCAT.

Step by Step Guide to Booking your UKCAT:

Step 1: Choose your date

We’d recommend booking the test during the summer holidays so you have plenty of time to prepare – and you won’t be snowed under with Year 13 coursework (not to mention your Personal Statement and UCAS application). Make sure you also think about your other commitments – if you’ve got a family holiday booked, or a regular volunteering placement for a few weeks, book your test outside of these times.

Top Tip: Make sure you have time for revision

Another thing to bear in mind is that UKCAT revision takes around 6 weeks (4 weeks of regular revision plus another 2 weeks of intense revision) – so make sure you’ll have a good period of time leading up to the date you choose. Don’t forget to make a note of this on your calendar!

Step 2: Choose your centre

You can use the UKCAT Test Centre Locator to see which venue is nearest to where you live – there are centres all over the world.

Top Tip: Book early

Don’t leave booking the test until later this year, as spaces will fill up fast and you won’t have as much choice of date and venue! The price of booking the test also increases past September.

Step 3: Prepare!

Once you have the date of your test, it’s now time to begin your preparation! You can do this by using our free UCAT guide. It has detailed sections on:
