On June 1st, 2020, the UCAT Consortium announced how UCAT will proceed in light of COVID-19.

The big news is: UCAT will be going ahead in 2020… and you can sit it at home!

Test dates will run from August 3rd – October 1st, with registration set to open on July 1st.

Below is a summary of what we now know about the upcoming UCAT cycle.

Registration and Testing Dates Revealed

The UCAT Consortium aims to open UCAT registration and booking on July 1st, 2020.

It has said that testing will take place between August 3rd and October 1st, prior to the UCAS application deadline on October 15th.

Due to the uncertainty caused by COVID-19, it is advised that candidates sit the test at their earliest convenience.

You Can Now Sit UCAT From Home!

UCAT candidates will be given the opportunity to sit the test either at home utilising Pearson VUE’s online proctoring service (OnVUE) or at a Pearson VUE Test Centre.

The test sat at home will be called ‘UCAT Online’.

While some test centres will remain closed, the ones that open will have social distancing measures put in place.

Internationally, it is likely that test centre availability will remain limited.

Test Content to Remain The Same

Despite the delivery model changing, the UCAT test content will remain exactly the same.

That means there will be no difference in content between the test sat at home and the one taken in a Pearson Vue test centre.

UCAT Online will use artificial intelligence combined with live monitoring to safeguard the security and integrity of the test.

Future Updates

The UCAT Consortium will publish a detailed Candidate Guide within the next few weeks. This will help candidates better understand how to sit the UCAT in 2020.

We will make sure we bring you all the latest information!
