How do you feel about lectures?*
- I don’t have any problems in maintaining my concentration in long teaching sessions, even if there isn’t much of an interactive element
- I don’t mind the idea of lectures, but I’m worried that I’ll fall asleep as I don’t enjoy being spoon fed information

Do you enjoy discussing topics in small groups?*
- I’m not a fan of group discussions. I find group dynamics often pose a challenge

Do you find learning from your classmates beneficial?*
- No, I don’t find any benefit in learning from other students
- Most definitely! I find it easier to learn when I’m taught by my peers as they often offer different perspectives and I enjoy the variety of teaching methods
- It can be beneficial if I’m stuck with something, but I prefer other methods of learning

Do you enjoy some flexibility and freedom in your learning?*
- Certainly, I don’t like rigid approaches where I’m simply told what to learn. I enjoy creating my own journey as a learner
- I wouldn’t know what to do or what to learn!
- I like some degree of flexibility in my learning but fundamentally I need clear directions

How would you feel about seeing a patient with dilated cardiomyopathy?*
- Exciting, seeing patients is an absolute must for me
- Terrifying as don’t know what on earth that is!
- I’m not fussed but I’d be intrigued to know what that is

Are you able to take initiative in undertaking private study or do you give into procrastination?*
- I find private study is a natural progression from lectures so that I can consolidate the information that I’ve been provided
- All I need is a topic to study! I enjoy finding answers and explanations myself
- I think I would quite like a mixture of undertaking private study after lectures, then balancing this learning with patient contact

Do you think that learning should be student-led?*
- That sounds like a great idea! It would be fun to take control of my own learning
- No way! I can’t imagine that would work particularly well – how would we know what to discuss?
- I enjoy interacting with others while I learn, but think I would struggle if it was all student-led

Do you think that it's easier to learn new concepts when they are given in context?*
- I would prefer to face the concepts on their own and ensure that I understand them. I’m sure that I’ll be able to apply these in the future when I am ready
- I think that it would be impossible to learn bits of information when I am not challenged to use it
- I don’t necessarily need to be given the opportunity to apply new concepts in context, but I find it easier when the concepts that I am learning are interlinked with other newly taught concepts

Do you enjoy public speaking?*
- The idea of giving a presentation makes me want to hide
- I am confident in giving presentations and the chance to improve my public speaking skills further is exciting
- I don’t mind the idea of public speaking because I enjoy talking to people
