Wondering how The Medic Portal compares to Medic Mind for UCAT prep? Here’s a guide to the key differences.

Medic Portal vs Medic Mind

The Medic Portal and Medic Mind both provide resources to help students with the Medicine application process – including support for UCAT and interview prep.

What Does The Medic Portal Offer For UCAT?

At TMP, we recommend that students follow three key steps to prepare for the UCAT.

  1. Learn theory and strategies.
  2. Apply the theory with practice.
  3. Consolidate to time with mocks.

Throughout UCAT season, we run UCAT courses where students learn theory and strategies to perform well in the test. It’s a one-day course, running 10am-5pm, and can be attended either in-person or live online.

If you prefer self-learning, or if you want to revisit the theory after attending a live course, we also have an online UCAT course which can be completed in your own time.

Once you have learned the theory, you need to answer lots of practice questions – and we have a UCAT Question Bank that you can use for this. There’s the option to try a free practice test and some free practice questions before you subscribe to the Question Bank.

After you have worked through lots of practice questions and are happy with your level of accuracy, the next stage is to try full mocks in timed conditions. Our Question Bank comes with a selection of mocks to include in your UCAT prep.

TMP also offers UCAT tutoring for students who feel like they would benefit from more personalised support and guidance. Tutoring sessions can be tailored to focus on your weaknesses and make sure you’re doing everything to boost your score. UCAT packages allow you to combine tutoring with courses and more.

There are also a number of free UCAT resources offered by TMP, including our comprehensive UCAT guide, blogs with tips to score highly and free UCAT webinars. You can also sign up to receive weekly UCAT prep plan emails in the run-up to your test.
