What should be my 5th option on my UCAS app?

I have narrowed my top 5 unis to: (in no particular order of preference)

-King’s College of London Medical School

-Bristol University Medical School

-University of Cambridge Medical School

-University College of London Medical School

-Imperial College of London Medical School

As a medical student I know I have to put down 4 medical schools and one reserve. So what course do I put down as my 5th? Biomedical Sciences? Or can it be another Science related course?

Then which university should be my 5th option? (which would be the non-medical course?)

Hi Isabella,

Thank you for your question.

This is mostly a matter of personal preference as there’s no ‘better’ medical school, so we’d recommend using your fifth option to apply to the course that’s most appealing to you at the university you most like – Biomedical Sciences is a popular choice, but students also choose degrees such as Pharmacy or Neuroscience. And don’t forget to factor in the entry requirements for the course you apply to!

You might find it useful to read our blog on selecting your fifth choice here: https://www.themedicportal.com/medicine-applications-make-5th-ucas-choice/

Hope this helps! 🙂
