How do UKCAT scores work?

Hi,

I’ve just done the Mock UKCAT A Paper and was given a score at the end. There was just one score and it was 673.

However, I always thought the scores ranged from 1200 to 3600…. so do i need to process the score or something? and if so, how? or, did i just do really badly on the paper?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Thank you for your question!

In each of Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning and Decision Making, you will be awarded a raw score depending on the number of correct answers given. This score is then scaled into a score between 300 and 900 points. You can therefore score between 1200 and 3600 points overall.

So 673 is your average score across the sections – and this is a good score, well done! You can find out more about UKCAT scores and how they work here: https://www.themedicportal.com/application-guide/ukcat/

Hope this helps! 🙂
