Alternative pathways into MBBS?

Hi, I’ve just completed my A levels and I got bad grades.

Maths: D

Chemistry: D

Physics: E

I was really hoping to join an MBBS course but direct entry requirements are wayyyy too high. Could anyone recommend alternative pathways ? Ive been looking at completing a BSC in BioMedicine then applying for an MBBS. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Hi Jay

Do you mind if I ask what you got at GCSE for these subjects. How are you finding these A levels? Did you just have a bad day in the exam or are you genuinely finding these subject challenging? Only you can answer these questions. At the end of the day, you need three A grades for Medicine. To get three A grades is very challenging even for the brightest of students. Foundation course, you might need to fall into a certain category to be eligible. Good luck, work hard and try your best that is all one can do.

Hi Jay,

Thank you for your question. You could look into Foundation Courses, which you can find out more about here: https://www.themedicportal.com/application-guide/choosing-a-medical-school/foundation-courses/

Hope this helps! 🙂
