* In addition to needing SJT Bands 1-3 to be considered, Hull York allocates points to applicants based on the SJT band when shortlisting for interview. You can receive up to 15 points for SJT, alongside up to 40 points for the rest of the UCAT, up to 30 points for GCSEs, and up to 15 points for contextual data.

Which Medical Schools Also Consider SJT?

The following Medical Schools don’t specify that a particular SJT band is needed, but they do consider Situational Judgement during the selection process.

• Birmingham University – They state that your band score for SJT will be used at the interview stage.
• King’s College London – They mention that the Situational Judgement test is “also taken into account when shortlisting.”
• Norwich Medical School (UEA) – If you’re invited to interview, they state that your SJT component score will be included within your interview score.
• Queen Mary University of London (Barts) – The Situational Judgement test may be considered alongside your interview score during selection after interview.
• Sheffield University – They state that a candidate’s SJT is considered at the MMI interview stage.
• St Andrews University – In previous years, the SJT was used as an element in the interview process, with the score being incorporated into the interview score.
• St George’s University – They say that they consider SJT band scores as part of their decision making.

Which Medical Schools Only Consider SJT In Borderline Cases?

These Medical Schools will only consider the Situational Judgement test to differentiate between candidates in borderline cases during the selection process.

• Aberdeen University – They state that the SJT will not be scored, but may be used in offer making when there are candidates with similar scores.
• Aston University – They say that “SJT banding (1 to 4 where 1 is the highest and 4 is the lowest) will not be scored but will be noted and considered in the cases of borderline candidates.”
• Queen’s University Belfast – Currently, SJT is only used to inform decisions on borderline applicants who have achieved a similar score at interview. However, they say that further consideration is being given to its use for 2024 entry.

Where Can I Apply With SJT Band 4?

If you got Band 4 in the UCAT Situational Judgement test, the following Medical Schools don’t consider the SJT as part of their selection process.
