5 Reasons To Consider Graduate Entry Medicine At The University of Chester

You can apply with any Bachelor’s Degree

Unlike most other Graduate Entry courses in the UK, we accept applications from students who have a first degree in any subject, not just in the biological or biomedical sciences.

You’ll study at a Med School with GMC accreditation

As a new Medical School, we are accredited by the General Medical Council (UK) and undergo regular inspections of our facilities and quality. Our students will qualify with a University of Chester MB ChB degree, which will allow them to obtain registration with the GMC and apply to the UK Foundation Programme for newly qualified Doctors.

You’ll do clinical placements in Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales

Placements during the course will be throughout the region, and include exposure to a wide variety of people and illnesses, both in the community and in hospitals. We place a particular emphasis on emerging medical technologies such as remote consultation skills, health informatics and genomics.

You’ll be taught in small groups

“The small group sizes allow students to develop into caring, skilful and knowledgeable medical practitioners. They will be given plenty of feedback on their progress and supported throughout their learning. Being open to graduates from a non-science background offers a route into Medicine for those with a broad range of previous experiences.” Professor John Alcolado, Executive Dean

You’ll benefit from a top international student experience

With 15,000 students from 130 countries worldwide, the University of Chester provides a vibrant, diverse and safe home for those travelling from overseas to study. Chester is a modern and compact city that is also rich in history and culture, and it’s ideally located in the north-west of England.

The University is home to more than 100 sports teams and societies, which provide a great opportunity to make friends with like-minded students from around the world.

Thanks to the outstanding experience on offer, Chester was voted second-best University for international students in the UK at the 2020 WhatUni? Student Choice Awards.
