The Future Doctors Award, offered by Anya’s Charity (established in 2006) to help break down financial and structural barriers to careers in medicine, provides a fully supported pathway for talented students who may otherwise face obstacles in pursuing medical school.
Working in partnership with The Medic Portal, successful applicants receive a comprehensive package of financial support, expert application guidance, and enrichment opportunities designed to strengthen every stage of their journey to medicine.
Applications must be completed in collaboration with a school or college and submitted by 15th May. To be eligible, you must provide evidence that you were eligible for free school meals (FSM) in the last six years, or were in care as per the pupil premium funding for pupils in England and Wales.
Please fill out this form in collaboration with your school (which needs to complete the supporting statement section), and email to [email protected] with the subject line ‘Anya’s Charity Future Doctors Award Application’.

What does the bursary provide?
A full support package with The Medic Portal, as well as further financial support from Anya’s Charity for books, travel, and university visits. The total value of the bursary is approximately £2,000.
What needs to be filled out by the school?
Only the ‘supporting statement’ section, where the school should confirm the student’s eligibility.
