Can i get in to medicine with following ?

Hey. I am a Clinical Pharmacist currently practicing Hospital pharmacy for the past year . I am looking to apply for the Undergraduate Medicine course commencing September 2019.
My qualifications to date:
University Masters of Pharmacy (2:1) 2012-2016
College
A level : Chemistry (C) 2010-2012
Maths (C) 2010-2012
URDU (A) 2010-2012
BTEC: level 3 extended diploma in applied science (3 Distinction stars) 2009-2012
High School

GCSE: Maths (C)
Applied science (C)
English language (C)
IT (B B)
P.E. (C)
I moved to the UK in 2007 (at the age of 16) without having any qualifications in English language, hence had to learn the language from the beginning. At the time, due to the language barrier I was only able to achieve a certain number of GCSEs in high school.
Please could you let me know if I meet the entry requirement criteria for Medicine.
Thank you very much for your help.

Hiya!

I can’t be sure with such specific circumstances, but I know that King’s College London run an Extended Medicine Degree Programme (EMDP) for people who, for a variety of reasons, may not have achieved top grades at high school but would still make excellent doctors. It is a 6 year course rather than 5, but it might be worth checking it out!

Good luck!

Hi there,

As your situation seems to be quite specific, we’d recommend contacting the universities you’re interested in applying to so they can point you in the right direction! Alternatively, you could also consider one of our general advice sessions: https://www.themedicportal.com/event/general-advice-sessions/

Hope this helps 🙂
