Volunteering Journeys offers some fantastic medical placements in local hospitals and clinics in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Tanzania. You will be working in a rotation with local doctors to learn about preventative and curative medical care in developing countries. No previous experience is required and you will get you the exposure you need to develop a successful understand of your area of medicine and that can assist your future career.
Our programs are structured well and give you a chance to meet others, travel to amazing destinations and learn from experts in field. You could be taking notes on patients history, checking blood pressure, helping with outreach in rural areas or being part of a surgery!
Why should you consider International Placements with Volunteering Journeys?
With each placement, you will get the opportunity to get intensive and structured learning in a real practical setting. You will be working from 9 to 5 pm or 25 hour weeks.
Whilst your skills may be universal, healthcare and medicine varies greatly from country to country. Diseases, patient care and treatments are different in Asia and Africa and this is a great way to learn more.
You can work with medical experts in field – an opportunity you would not get in your own country.
International placements can really boost your resume and highlight your interest towards your medical field placing you in a favourable position compared to your peers.
You can travel and see the world as you gain valuable work experience!
